Women Vote in Seattle Elections, 1911
A primary focus of “civic housekeepers” was to get corrupt, immoral politicians out of office. Since women were believed to be more directed by their morals than men, women were encouraged to seek the vote in order to remove politicians who took bribes or frequented saloons.
