Declaration of Principles of the Knights of Labor, 1885
The Knights of Labor was a prominent industrial union in the late 1800s. While they advocated for suffrage and equal pay for women, they were also militantly anti-Asian. Between 1885-1886, the Knights were responsible for stoking the violent expulsion of Chinese residents of Tacoma and Seattle.
