Post-secondary education, both vocational and academic, was a cornerstone of Progressive policies. With enough education and training, they believed people could be “improved,” both for their own betterment and the betterment of society at large. Women’s participation in higher education led to the creation of many women’s clubs, including suffrage organizations.
